When it comes to the hip factor, Marriott has come a long way, baby. Christina Aguilera and Vanessa Hudgens kept paparazzi busy at The Waikiki EDITION's opening weekend, but the buzz actually started months before, with a "casting party" for hiring employees. It also helps that the brand paired with Ian Schrager to launch this first in what are slated to be many EDITION hotels around the country. But it isn't all urban flair at this property. You'll still find a laid-back aloha vibe, beginning in the lobby, with a wall-to-wall surfboard installation by former pro surfer Herbie Fletcher. Outdoor first-run movies from the pool decks, a restaurant from Iron Chef star Masaharu Morimoto and a private lagoon make this hotel the place to hang ten in Waikiki.
