Anything but a typical hotel restaurant, The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco's adventurous epicurean-level eatery is a destination in its own right. Chef Ron Siegel fills some mighty big shoes—former chefs include Gary Danko and Sylvain Portay—but then again, he was the first American to triumph over an Iron Chef in the original Kitchen Stadium. His Francophile fare and Japanese sensibilities have landed The Dining Room on Gayot's Top 40 list every year since 2005.
