During last night’s Stylish Luxurious Soirée to celebrate the opening of SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills, guests were treated with Dom Perignon and Jose Andrés’s upscale tapas.

The gates to the hotel, just named one of GAYOT.com’s Top 10 new hotels for 2008, and to The Bazaar were kept closed until the series of speeches concluded. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa welcomed another of Sam Nazarian’s realizations, and the businessman gracefully thanked his parents for their support.

The chefs from the Club Culinaire of French Cuisine with Sophie and Alain Gayot

On Sunday November 30th, the Club Culinaire of French Cuisine based in Los Angeles held its annual gala dinner at The Regency Club in Westwood, Los Angeles. The club’s chef, Dominique Raynal, who is a foie gras advocate, served it in terrine form to start the meal. Then he surprised us with a perfectly cooked turbot.

During the reception, there was a silent auction to benefit the HOPE Program in the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Last September, a donation of $30,000 was presented to the organization. Chef Florent Marneau of Marché Moderne in Costa Mesa, was named by the Club Culinaire “Chef of Year” in front of his peers.
