Man vs. nature. Man vs. man. Man vs. self. These outer and inner conflicts inhabit every moment in “The Revenant,” director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s cinematic tour de force. The title aptly refers to Leonardo DiCaprio’s character who quite literally comes back from near-death to seek revenge on the man (played by a remarkably villainous Tom Hardy) who abandoned him and killed his son.
