Luxurious Perks in Business Class on American Airlines’ New Boeing 777-300ER – Travel News

To keep up with competition and new standards, airlines are in renovation mode, and American Airlines is no exception.
The airline is bringing modern luxury to its Boeing 777-300ERs, as well as its terminals and check-in desks. The new Flagship Check-In offers a private check-in experience that includes an expedited security line and customer service representatives that can personally assist passengers with their individual travel needs.
On board, classes have been elevated to a point where Business Class passengers may feel like they’re in First Class. American Airlines has abandoned the former 2-2-2 seat layout for Business Class and has introduced a 1-2-1 layout instead (one seat at each window and two in the middle that include a privacy panel). Although the new seats are positioned farther from the windows, the new design allows more room for passengers and storage, as well as aisle access from every seat.
The lie-flat Business Class seats also feature a control panel with an attached mini-closet and mirror, extra table space and storage compartments galore (even one for shoes). Also available are Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headsets for in-flight use; amenity kits featuring a quilted bed topper, duvet, two pillows, closed-toe slippers, pajamas and skin care products from Akhassa; and a self-service, walk-up bar stocked with snacks, such as sandwich slices and parfaits, and refreshments including Champagne.
The aircraft are equipped with Wi-Fi, as well as AC power outlets and USB jacks at every seat including Economy, and seatbelts now contain airbags. Each seat also comes with its own personal screen for in-flight entertainment in the form of up to 250 movies, more than 150 TV programs and 350 audio selections.
Also new to American Airlines is the first-rate wine program by sommelier Ken Chase. Customers will receive a tasting card to assist in their selections, all chosen by Chase, which could include anything from Gosset Champagne and Merlot to Vermentino and Vintage Port. There is also a “surprise” wine on each flight, dubbed “Chase’s Choice.”
American Airlines plans to expand to more destinations within the next year, but for now, passengers can experience the new aircraft on flights between Los Angeles (as well as Dallas/Fort Worth and New York) and London, and between Dallas/Fort Worth and Sao Paulo.
