Pure Luxury & Pasta
The Resort at Pelican Hill, located in Newport Coast, California, between Newport Beach and Laguna Beach, is just pure luxury. Hidden away from the busy southern California buzz by 50,000 acres of permanently protected, natural open space, parks and trails, the resort makes you feel like you have arrived worlds away. There is no big hotel structure, but 204 bungalow guest rooms and suites, 128 villas (two-, three- and four bedrooms), and two Tom Fazio 18-hole golf courses on the 504-acre secluded property.
At a point, you will become hungry and will have to leave the 500-thread-count sheets, fireplace framed by Italian limestone, Bose sound system, deep soaking marble tub, hand-crafted wood-beam ceilings, and the sun setting in the ocean from your private terrace. The Resort has few dining options, but you must experience the signature restaurant Andrea at least once. Andrea is not a fine dining experience, and is not intended to be one, but rather a very elegant jewel box for savoring the true flavors of Northern Italy. Watch the exclusive video with the hotel executive chef Jean-Pierre Dubray and chef de cuisine Luca Cesarini to discover the property and the restaurant in images.
There are about ten different types of pasta on the menu. You can be sure that they are as fresh as they can be as they are made daily in a special temperature-controlled “Pasta Room.” Watch a second video with chef Cesarini to see his favorite place to be in the kitchen.
Due to the hard work of the team, Andrea restaurant is one of GAYOT.com’s 2011 | Top 10 Orange County Romantic Restaurants | Top 10 Orange County Chef’s Table Restaurants | Top 10 Orange County Italian Restaurants | Top 10 Orange County Food Rating Restaurants | Top 10 Orange County Wine List Restaurants and Top 10 Orange County Star Spotting Restaurants.
