Bordeaux, France, stands at the pinnacle of wine production. This region comprises more than 45,000 acres of Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) vines with over fifty appellations that yield Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots, Cabernet Francs, Sauvignon Blancs and Semillions. Blends of these varietals have produced some of the finest wines in the world, making Bordeaux synonymous with superior wines. However, that doesn’t mean that all quality Bordeaux wines are unaffordable.

The Bordeaux Under One Roof event held at Manhattan’s 4 World Trade Center showcased 140 wines from Bordeaux vineyards including whites, reds, roses, clarets and even a sparkling. All of the wines were reasonably priced between $10 and $55. Among our favorites, Château LaGrave Cissan, Haut Médoc and Château Capdet, Listrac Médoc Cru Bourgeois from Southern Médoc were both priced at under 30 dollars a bottle. The fun event was sponsored by the Bordeaux Wine Council.
