If you are planning on dining out in Los Angeles tonight, you should know about the unique event happening at Animal restaurant on Fairfax Avenue. This is the second and last night chef Gavin Kaysen of Café Boulud in New York will be serving a special 5-course dinner, so you can try his cuisine in a casual restaurant in LA. We named Kaysen one of GAYOT.com’s Top 5 Rising Chefs in 2008. He’s come a long way from his days making sandwiches at Subway!
Dinner will cost $75 per person, plus an additional $25 for optional wine pairings. If you want to know more, watch my exclusive video interview with the chef that I shot last night in the kitchen of the meat-centric restaurant after enjoying Kaysen’s caper-crusted lamb loin and chocolate mousse. You should also be aware that the chefs behind Animal, Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, have just opened a new seafood-oriented place called Son of a Gun nearby.
