On this last day of the year, we at GAYOT.com would like to thank you for your trust in our site.

We look forward to bringing you more culinary delights, restaurant news, reviews for the top restaurants and cheap eats as well as the best travel information on hotels, 72-hour vacations and business trips.

Let’s not forget that we like to drink wine, Champagne and more (moderately), be showered with gifts, pampered in spas, watch good movies, and drive the car that best fits our budget, all information to be found right here.

Let’s be interactive and communicate in the New Year. To that effect, we have set up a forum area in our Community where you can share ideas with other users. Follow us directly in our blog;  and post promptly your restaurant and hotel experience that will appear on the site in our in our “WRITE YOUR OWN REVIEW” section located at the end of each review.

If you were driving in Beverly Hills at 8:30 pm on Friday, December 5th, you may have seen fireworks. The pyrotechnic display marked the grand opening of the Montage Beverly Hills hotel.

The partying took place all through the hotel, from the street level to the 9th floor pool. The event was just gorgeous, with every gentleman in black tie and every lady in a long gown. Champagne, wine (from BV Vineyards 2005 Tapestry and 2006 Chalone Estate Chardonnay)and food were the inseparable partners of the evening.

During last night’s Stylish Luxurious Soirée to celebrate the opening of SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills, guests were treated with Dom Perignon and Jose Andrés’s upscale tapas.

The gates to the hotel, just named one of GAYOT.com’s Top 10 new hotels for 2008, and to The Bazaar were kept closed until the series of speeches concluded. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa welcomed another of Sam Nazarian’s realizations, and the businessman gracefully thanked his parents for their support.

Culinary history was made last night in Beverly Hills with the opening of Muse, one of the restaurants inside the new hotel, Montage Beverly Hills.
As I enjoyed an elaborate meal and interesting wine pairings, I witnessed the birth of a new fine dining experience, not only in Beverly Hills, but also in greater Los Angeles,  where there are not many establishments of this high caliber.

Listen to what I said about Muse on KNX1070.

UPDATE AUGUST 2014: TOUR THE NEW SLS LAS VEGAS PROPERTY WITH EXCLUSIVE VIDEOS AND PHOTOS.

I just came back from a two-hour tour of Sam Nazarian’s first hotel of his SLS collection, the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills. Designed by Philippe Starck, the Los Angeles address is a unique property that will surely set new standards; not to mention that chef José Andrés is in charge of your gastronomical pleasures.

I would like to thank Sam for what his endeavors bring to the hospitality and culinary world.
