Seventh GAYOT.com Dinner Series | 5th Annual Flavors Culinary Gala of the Los Angeles Division of the American Liver Foundation

By Sophie Gayot

May, 2011

The fifth annual Flavors Culinary Gala of the Los Angeles Division of the American Liver Foundation will be part of the GAYOT.com Dinner Series as it was last year. The fundraiser will be held on May 22nd, 2011, at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, starting at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and a silent auction, followed by a sit-down dinner.

The participating chefs are: Jeremy Berlin, Church & State; Collin Crannell, The Lobster; Calvin Holladay, Flemings LA Live; Kevin Meehan, Café Pinot; Jean-François Meteigner, La Cachette Bistro; Larry Nicola, Nic’s Beverly Hills; Mirko Paderno, Oliverio; Keith Roberts, Ocean & Vine; John Sedlar, Rivera and Playa; Paul Shoemaker, Savory; and Shigefumi Tachibe, Chaya.

I am proud to be honorary chair once again of this unique event where the chefs actually cook the meal in front of you. Each table seats just ten people, and the menus and table settings are different for each chef.

As you can see from the photos below (restaurants listed in alphabetical order), guests had a great time at last year’s fundraiser. You can also watch three exclusive video interviews of some of the 2010 chefs: Joe Miller from Joe’s in Venice, Michael Voltaggio, and Joshua Whigham from The Bazaar.

A limited number of individual seats are available for $275 by contacting the Greater Los Angeles Division of the American Liver Foundation at 310-670-4624 or [email protected]. All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s programs of education, research, and advocacy for those affected by liver disease including hepatitis. For more information, please visit www.liverfoundation.org.
