On Sunday November 30th, the Club Culinaire of French Cuisine based in Los Angeles held its annual gala dinner at The Regency Club in Westwood, Los Angeles. The club’s chef, Dominique Raynal, who is a foie gras advocate, served it in terrine form to start the meal. Then he surprised us with a perfectly cooked turbot.

During the reception, there was a silent auction to benefit the HOPE Program in the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Last September, a donation of $30,000 was presented to the organization.

Chef Florent Marneau of Marché Moderne in Costa Mesa, was named by the Club Culinaire “Chef of Year” in front of his peers.
The Club Culinaire of French Cuisine, presided  by Jean-François Meteigner of La Cachette restaurant,  is a non-profit organization comprised of restaurant and hospitality industry personnel including chefs, maître d’, wine stewards and restaurant owners and purveyors who are eager to promote French cuisine. Members are offered bi-monthly newsletters, reduced rates for events and the opportunity to connect with other members and colleagues.
