Yesterday marked the debut of the seventh edition of Jazz on the Lawn, a free concert series presented by Santa Monica Cultural Affairs in Stewart Park on Sundays in August from 5 p.m. to 7 pm. It was my first time attending the event; I had never made it in prior years, when the concerts were held on the lawn in front of Santa Monica City Hall. The new location was just perfect: we were surrounded by huge and gorgeous trees and a playground for the children.
The session started with a warm welcome by Santa Monica Mayor Richard Bloom, who was excited to present The Dustbowl Revival group. Watch the video above to get a taste of the evening. I hope it will convince you to come over the next few weeks. Bring a blanket, beach chairs and a picnic, listen to the artists and relax!
