National Pancake Day at IHOP

[youtube id=”QLO_oJ33jw0″] by Sophie Gayot I mostly review restaurants at dinner, sometimes at lunch, but never at breakfast. However, when I was invited to flip pancakes with Miss America 2014, Nina Davuluri, I got up (early) and drove to Hollywood this morning. What is so special about today? It is National Pancake Day, so Nina flew from the East coast to sunny California to support IHOP. For the past nine years, the chain, famous for “everything you love about breakfast (SM)”, has been raising nearly $13 million dollars by giving away stacks of its famous buttermilk pancakes on this day to diners to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Watch my exclusive video interview with the beauty queen to learn more about it. It’s not too late; you have until 10 p.m. tonight to visit any IHOP in the nation. The pancakes are free, but you will be encouraged to leave a voluntary donation. The goal is to raise $3 million this year for this worthwhile cause.
