Tasting Notes: The late Ray Signorello, Sr. purchased his estate vineyard in the mid-1970s and sold the Chardonnay grapes to neighboring wineries. With the abundant harvest of 1985, Signorello crushed the excess grapes and bottled his own wines for the first time. Buoyed by this success, he built a winery the following year and expanded production to include red wines. Ray Signorello, Jr. now manages the 100-acre estate winery on the Silverado Trail. Named in honor of his late mother, the 2011 Hope’s Cuvée Chardonnay is a rich and expressive palate-pleaser. It displays baked apple, pear and lemon flavors with a touch of vanilla balanced by a rounded, creamy mouthfeel.

Food Pairings: Roast pork and apples, chicken risotto, pear and gorgonzola pizza
