The airline is bringing modern luxury to its Boeing 777-300ERs, as well as its terminals and check-in desks. The new Flagship Check-In offers a private check-in experience that includes an expedited security line and customer service representatives that can personally assist passengers with their individual travel needs.

Winter is coming, and what better way to escape the cold than with a trip to South America? Starting December 16, 2013, American Airlines travelers can book nonstop flights to and from Los Angeles (LAX) and Sao Paulo, Brazil (GRU), as well as between Miami (MIA) and Curitiba (CWB) and Porto Alegre (POA), beginning November 21, 2013.

American Airlines Flies with new Logo and Livery

Every so often an airline comes out with new features, and there is a lot brewing these days with new aircraft technology. American Airlines has reached such a milestone with the advent of light aircraft based on carbon fiber parts and other lightweight materials. For decades, the iconic airline flew with shiny aluminum skins only seen these days on vintage aircraft at shows and museums. A requirement had made it that AA needed to paint their planes. So starting today American Airlines Flight #963 from Dallas to Sao Paolo, Brazil, is the first commercial flight of the airline’s brand new 777-300ER plane to fly the new exterior scheme with silver mica paint to remind you of the earlier planes’ metallic look. A new modern logo with a stylized eagle sits next to the giant word “American” while on the tail waves a proud rendition of Old Glory.

The new Boeing 777-300ER from V Australia at LAX


This afternoon on a much needed rainy day in Los Angeles, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa welcomed Sir Richard Branson and one of his brand new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for his new airline V Australia. The aircraft was on a special livery stop-over at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Tomorrow, the crew takes the aircraft to Sydney where the sister airline to Virgin Atlantic will offer non-stop service between Los Angeles and Sydney and Brisbane beginning February 27, 2009.
