He has been jazzing up his menu with a line of French tapas for a while now. They are playful, and create fun interactions at the dining room table as tapas do. Watch my exclusive video with Meteigner who explains his tapas, and enjoy pictures of the dishes below.

If you have a love affair with French cuisine, it might as well as be in a restaurant that contains the word “Amour” (love) in its name. That is exactly what chef Walter Manzke is doing while consulting at Saint Amour restaurant, a brasserie in Culver City, Calif.
A California native, Manzke has circled around from the West Coast to Le Louis XV in Monte Carlo with Alain Ducasse, elBulli under Ferran Adrià, three restaurants in Carmel, Calif., to Patina, Bastide and Church & State in Los Angeles. When Saint Amour owner Florence Herve Commereuc called him to ask if he could come on board, Manzke responded “oui,” but he’s looking forward to eventually opening his own place in the City of the Angels. Watch my exclusive video interview with him, and read my just published review of the restaurant, and see why we put it on our list of the Top 10 Bistros in LA.

Before I sit down at my computer to write the full review of La Cachette Bistro, I want to share with you, right away, my dinner there last night in our blog section—view it in the pictures below.
Both the food and décor, whether enjoyed inside or on the patio, will surely attract diners.
Chef Jean-François Meteigner from La Cachette is celebrating the soon-to-come summer with a new “HYBRID MENU.” Within the restaurant he has created much more casual dishes at reasonable prices, under “La Cachette Bistro.” Look for them on the menu, marked with a bistro chair. Last night I tried a refreshing red papaya salad with brandade of homemade salted cod, corn blinis and cream; North Sea whitefish in a saffron broth with mussels, clams and mixed market vegetables, and floating island.
Besides dining at La Cachette, you can spend time with Meteigner during his cooking classes, the next ones to be held on May 2, June 27 and August 29.
