SAVOY FARE

Restaurant Guy Savoy Hits Vegas

Chef Guy Savoy opens his first U.S. location on the Vegas strip.

After a long day of gambling, highrollers face much better odds of winning at the tables of Las Vegas’ exquisite restaurants run by world-class chefs. What better place for French restaurateur Guy Savoy to make his entrée into the American culinary landscape than the glitzy gastronomic getaway? With a throng of successful Parisian restaurants under his belt, Savoy is slated to open his first United States location on May 17, 2006 at Caesars Palace.
Perched above the Roman Plaza on the second floor of the Augustus Tower, Restaurant Guy Savoy is an intimate 75-seat dining space decorated in dark-colored woods which are embellished with stone, leather and contemporary art. The cozy ambience is complemented by a fireplace, around which guests can sip from a flute of bubbly from the adjacent Champagne and wine bar.
Gourmands will lose themselves when they sample Savoy's mouthwatering ménagerie of gourmet delicacies, which would otherwise only be found within Paris city limits. The menu is very much like that of its French frère, boasting signature dishes such as his artichoke and black truffle soup or the steamed turbot flanked with salad and soup. Each menu item can be coupled with your choice of fine wines from the 1,000-bottle climate-controlled wine wall. After dinner, grab a cocktail and check out the enclosed terrace, which affords sweeping vistas of the Roman Plaza and the bright lights below—reminding you that you are not, in fact, in a Parisian temple of gastronomy, but on the Vegas strip.

When: Restaurant Guy Savoy opens May 17, 2006 and will serve dinner Wednesday-Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Where: Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas

Reservations: Make your reservations soon. Guy Savoy will be in the kitchen for just a month, putting his personal touch on each culinary creation, before resuming a less-frequent schedule at the Vegas eatery. Reservations can be made by calling 702-731-SAVOY.
