THE LACMA CAMPAIGN
Broad Contemporary Art Museum

BP Grand Entrance

Since 2004, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art has been working to transform the dated building into a contemporary campus that innovatively displays the museum's diverse art collection. After three years of conception, planning and construction, the first phase of Transformation: The LACMA Campaign has finally been completed. Visitors will now enter the museum through the BP Grand Entrance, highlighted with a striking streetlight art installation, to LACMA's seven-building campus.

Most notable of the Phase I changes is the opening of the Broad Contemporary Art Museum, made possible by a generous grant from LACMA trustee Eli Broad and his wife, Edythe. The new building features 60,000 square feet of gallery space devoted to modern works from artists such as Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha, Jeff Koons and John Baldessari. Currently, the BCAM requires a dated, timed ticket for entrance, but the ticket will not add to the cost of LACMA admission and will provide access to all open galleries on the museum campus.

Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 8 p.m.; Friday from noon to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Closed Wednesday.

Where: 5905 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles

Admission: $8-12 for non-members, free for members and children 17 and under
