CELEBRATING THE SURREAL
A Salvador Dalí Retrospective

While a dorm room hardly seems complete without a Salvador Dalí poster hanging from its walls, viewing painting after painting of the real thing proves to be as surreal as the landscapes depicted.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art presents one of the most comprehensive exhibits of Dalí’s work to coincide with the centenary of the artist’s birth. On display will be those old dorm room favorites—stark landscapes with elements of the bizarre—which are far more haunting in their original forms. In addition to these more familiar images, the exhibition will include Dalí’s work from fields such as theater design, filmmaking and literature.

Where: The Philadelphia Museum of Art

When: February 16-May 16

Tickets: $20 for adults, $10 for children, and other special rates
