LIGHT
UP THE NIGHT
Transformed by the Light: The New
York Night
New
York City is alive 24 hours a day, its heartbeat never taking
a break. The Transformed by the Light: The New York
Night exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York
shows visitors how light made the city as vibrant as it
is today, and how essential luminosity is in the home, out
in the street and at work.
Artifacts
on display include bulbs from the infamous Rockefeller Tree
and a giant neon “i” that once stood guard over
Columbus Circle. The exhibit also includes state-of-the-art
lighting created by ten contemporary design firms.
