The Merchant of Venice

F. Murray Abraham in The Merchant of Venice

You won’t have to give a pound of flesh to view this classic Shakespeare play, which will be performed at The Duke on 42nd Street. Running through March 11, 2007, The Merchant of Venice explores still-relevant themes of clashing cultures and the price of love. All bets are on that F. Murray Abraham, who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of the deliciously devilish Salieri in “Amadeus,” will garner much attention as Shylock, the misunderstood Jewish money lender.

When: Through March 11, 2007, Tuesday-Sunday.

Where: The Duke on 42nd Street, 229 W. 42nd St., New York.

Admission: $65 for Tuesday-Thursday, $69 Friday-Sunday.

Information: 212-229-2819, duke.new42.org.
