Museum Mile Festival

One day a year, nine of New York's best museums open their doors to New Yorkers and tourists for a day-long block party and art celebration, held along the city's famous Fifth Avenue from 82nd to 105th Street, also known as the Museum Mile. More than 50,000 visitors are expected for this music- and art-filled event, which will feature live bands, street performances, sidewalk chalk art and plenty of activities for the kids.

All nine museums located along the Museum Mile will offer free admission during the event. Museums include the El Museo del Barrio, Museum of the City of New York, The Jewish Museum, Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Neue Galerie New York, Goethe-Institut/German Cultural Center and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
