THE WORLD OUTSIDE OUR WORLD
The Search for Life: Are We Alone?

Journey from the ocean floor to Mars with Harrison Ford as your guide during this show that examines the question that everyone has pondered: is there life out there? "The Search for Life: Are We Alone?" at the Rose Center for Earth and Space discusses the possibility of life existing elsewhere in the universe. Harrison Ford narrates as the viewer experiences 3-D effects as well as visuals and animation, many developed specifically for this show, in a theater that houses the world’s largest virtual reality simulator.

"The Search for Life" presents a galaxy of interesting information and visuals. Actual imaging data from NASA’s Pathfinder mission will take you to Mars, which may contain water—a necessity for life—under its surface. Planets outside of our solar system, called exoplanets, will also be examined. A hundred are assumed to be in existence in the Milky Way, and we now believe that they might outnumber stars and could even harbor forms of life.

So while the existence of life elsewhere is unknown, the possibility of it seems to be increasing.
