Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Chipotle Molasses - Review
It’s only natural that a chef goes from writing popular books to television appearances to endorsing a slew of cooking products. Even if their recipes and cooking style are world-class, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t hesitate to put their name on some questionable items in order to inflate their bottom line.
But chef Steven Raichlen avoids that trap with his Chipotle Molasses Barbecue Sauce. Not only did we find the product from the host of "Primal Grill" a tasty topping to our grilled burgers, but we were glad to see that it did not char or burn — as lower-quality sauces do — while spending excessive time exposed to flame. Like its name, it walks the line between sweet and hot, but never cloying or off-putting. Our meat stayed moist under the tomato-based sauce, so no catsup was needed. We’re looking forward to trying it on other hearty molasses-friendly dishes, like ribs and baked beans.
