Verterra Dinnerware - Review

A Green Alternative to Paper Plates

Verterra Dinnerware

Looking for a stylish, yet environmentally friendly way to serve friends and family? Try an all-natural, sustainable, guilt-free and stylish choice of dinnerware for picnics, barbecues or any occasion or event where you’d normally use plastic or paper plates.

Verterra is a line of single-use dinnerware made from fallen palm leaves. The products are 100% biodegradable and don’t use any chemicals, lacquers, plastics, waxes, toxins or bonding agents of any kind. Instead, they are made by applying steam, pressure and heat, and they are surprisingly durable, standing up to hot foods, liquids and direct sunlight. They are also refrigerator-safe.

Verterra is a great opportunity to go green and express your unique style through its line of different sized bowls, plates and trays.  The bowls are square, ranging in sizes from 3.5 inches to 8 inches, and are perfect for dips, sauces, soups, salads and sides. The plates, also square, range in sizes from 4 to 10 inches. They are ideal for BBQ dinners, picnics, tastings, lunches and light meals. If serving a bigger crowd of people, trays are available in sizes ranging from 7x8.5 inches and 10.5x12.5 inches, which are great for hors d’oeuvres, desserts and even whole meals.

Available at Whole Foods. Prices start at $3.99 for the 3.5 inch plate.
