Toco Hills Shopping Center provides a central location for much of Atlanta's Conservative and Orthodox Jewish population. The Bagel Palace was home to the city's first freshly made bagels-way before bagels went commercial and franchise. The bakery does keep up with modern times, offering bagels in many different flavors with an even longer list of cream cheeses. You also can find bialys, cookies, pastries and cakes. Kids love the fire truck and police car big cookies. Adults love the take-out possibilities: excellent whitefish salad, chopped liver with onion, Hebrew National tongue, knockwurst and chopped herring salad. The attached restaurant serves all these traditional items and more.
