Rarely is jet-set glamour associated with social responsibility, but Hotel Sezz St. Tropez aims to change that. Sure, it has a Dom Pérignon bar and villa accommodations that would have made the Rat Pack proud, but it also focuses its attention on water conservation and recycling so that guests can indulge guilt-free. The hotel was designed to integrate into its natural surroundings; its builders managed to preserve nearly every existing tree on the site. Extra thick walls and integrated window filters that absorb ultraviolet rays add to the energy-saving aspect, and all spa products are made with natural plants and minerals. Guests can borrow bikes to pedal to the beach, and then return (without having taken a single "carbon footstep") for dinner at Colette, headed by chef Pierre Gagnaire.
