Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort

Located on a seventeen-acre former coconut plantation, this resort boasts picturesque lagoons and 25 charming bures (bungalows) made from local materials. Among the environmentally friendly activities on offer are excursions with a full-time marine biologist: coral reef explorations, planting mangroves and learning about the coastal ecosystem. Meals incorporate fresh herbs and vegetables grown in the organic garden, and there is even a waste water system using coconuts and recycled bottles to produce clean water. If Gilligan had been an environmentalist, the Jean-Michel Cousteau resort would have been the perfect place for his "three-hour tour" to wash ashore.
