The Ladera Resort is a paradox, democratic and exclusive all at the same time. There's no
need to upgrade here to get the good stuff. Every one of the nine villas and 23 suites has at least its own plunge pool, and all boast a very private but very “open” wall facing west to take in views of the Pitons and Caribbean Sea. The in-room Necessaire Kit is a thoughtful touch, containing all sorts of little treats, from slippers to star charts for night-sky gazing. Once part of Soufrière's oldest cocoa plantation, this rainforest sanctuary has mastered al fresco living. Farm-to-table restaurant Dasheene perches over the water, and Ti Kai Posé Spa has mineral soaking tubs available to all guests in its garden. The source of the sulfurous water is the Diamond Mineral Baths near Soufrière, built in 1785 with funds from King Louis XVI and rumored to have been frequented by Empress Josephine.
