Surrounded by its own water-filled moat in the southernmost part of the Loire Valley, the Château de Saint-Loup was built during the reign of Louis XII and is today owned by Count Charles-Henri de Bartillat. Reflecting the property’s medieval origins, the guest rooms feature four-poster beds and stained glass windows. Manicured grounds include
an orangery, pavilions, courtyards, 1,000 fruit trees, gorgeous flower beds and a vegetable garden dating back to the Middle Ages. As you explore the castle, you might find yourself lingering in the music room to play a tune on the piano or perhaps chatting with fellow guests over cocktails in one of the charming sitting rooms. Other activities range from biking to fishing to hot air balloon rides over the picturesque valley.
