Geneva on the Lake

Although it sometimes takes a back seat to New York's Hudson Valley wine region, the Finger Lakes district is home to a notable selection of boutique wineries producing Cabernets, Chardonnays and Rieslings on three distinct trails. Situated in a beautiful waterfront setting, Geneva on the Lake was built in 1914 as a private home and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was modeled after Villa Lancellotti in Frascati, Italy, and after serving as a monastery for more than two decades, it now offers 29 guest suites and studios decorated with Stickley furnishings. When not strolling in the formal Versailles-style gardens or lazing around the 70-foot pool, you can head out for a day of wine tasting along the Seneca Lakes Wine Trail.
