Alexander's Inn Hotel Review: This handsome Arts and Crafts-style house on the historic East Side dates to 1903 and has been one of Santa Fe's most distinguished B&Bs since it opened in the early 1990s. The inn enjoys an enviable location along tree-lined Palace Avenue, just steps from the fine art galleries of Canyon Road, and a ten-minute walk from the historic Plaza's many museums, restaurants, and shops. The property comprises not only the sunny main house with five rooms (all named for flowers), but also two roomy casitas, one of which has a Jacuzzi tub. Some of the features you'll find in various rooms include tall windows and skylights, polished wood floors, period furnishings, and---in some units---full kitchens and private patios. You can also count on modern conveniences like cable TV (in some units), air-conditioning, and phones with voice mail. Breakfast is a much-enjoyed event here, where you might sample apple muffins or lemon bars. The owners also run a pair of nearby guest houses, Hacienda Nicholas and the Queen Anne House.
