Ann Bean Mansion Hotel Review: In 1880 this four-story Victorian mansion was home to lumber baron Jacob Bean. Because it remained in the family until 1957, its ornately carved oak fireplaces and hand-painted ceilings are well-preserved. Guests here can walk to the antique shops, boutiques and cafés that line the main street of Stillwater. The five guest rooms are large and outrageously romantic. Overlooking the St. Croix River, they showcase a collection of unique touches, such as original marble showers, double whirlpools, fireplaces, antique sleigh beds and bay windows. Among your accommodation choices is a tower room with a stupendous view. Enjoy a leisurely four-course breakfast served on china and linen in the dining room or a lazy, casual breakfast in bed, including pastry, breads, coffee and fruit.
