Balboa Bay Resort Hotel Review

: Located on fifteen acres hugging the legendary waters of Newport Harbor, this Mediterranean-style resort would feel right at home on the shores of the Riviera. The property has long been esteemed as a private institution whose members have included presidents, royalty, celebrities and well-known athletes. What many savvy travelers don't know is that the private club here also hosts a 132-room hotel, which makes it one of the best-kept upscale vacation secrets in the country. All guests of this family- and sports-oriented club are welcome to enjoy the facilities, including the private beach, health club, two swimming pools and courts for racquetball, volleyball and basketball. Guests also enjoy golf and tennis privileges at the private Newport Beach Country Club, and there's a posh 144-slip marina with guest and charter boat docking. Although some of the club's excellent food and beverage facilities are open to members only, hotel guests and the general public can dine on contemporary cuisine at the First Cabin Restaurant, as well as rub elbows with Newport's finest at lively Duke's Place.
