Beach Village at The Del Hotel Review: A luxurious enclave with private villas, seaside rentals and cottages at San Diego's Hotel del Coronado, the Beach Village at The Del caters exclusively to guests with its Beach Village concierge. These luxe accommodations feature fully equipped gourmet kitchens, fireplaces and ocean view patios and balconies for the ultimate in beachside living. Fine linens, Bose sound systems, deluxe patio furniture and marble oversized tubs add to the luxury quotient. But it’s the endless Pacfic views and proximity to one of Southern California’s finest beaches that win us over. The stellar concierge service includes private chefs, exotic and vintage car rentals, in-room massages and more. Some cottages have private dipping pools or hot tubs. Beach Village has its own pools with cabana service too. Guest have access to the amenities of Hotel del Coronado such as their spa and fitness classes, along with dining at 1500 Ocean, helmed by renowned chef Robert Hohmann. What we find truly inviting about Beach Village is access to the private Windsor Cottage, once the home of socialite Wallis Simpson, who King Edward gave up the throne to marry in 1936. At the restored 1905 bungalow which sits in front of The Del by the beach, Beach Village guests can enjoy gourmet breakfast or sunset cocktails and dinner on the patio. Staying at the contemporary chic Beach Village means privacy, tranquility and no crowds, while still enjoying access to the best of the beautiful 125-year-old hotel and its charming legacy. The staff is excellent and their attention to detail impressive.
