Best Western Kelly Inn Hotel Review: The lobby is pleasant if cluttered, its décor a mélange of stucco, ceramic tile, deep green tones and warm woods. The restaurant-lounge sets off to one side, and the front desk to the other. Overall, this welcome is friendly and warm, although it's a bit of a mishmash. It tends to feel busy, even if you're the only one standing there. The rooms are on the small side, but the north-facing ones have good views of the State Capitol, and the southern rooms show off the Cathedral of St. Paul and the downtown skyline. This is the only hotel even remotely close to the capitol. It's ideally situated for doing state government business. Some state offices are located right in the hotel, so you may not even need to go outside to accomplish your tasks. The Minnesota History Center is across the street, and the Xcel Energy Center is a short walk away.
