Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Review: The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa was the first new property to open in Atlantic City in 13 years, and this $1.1 billion joint venture between Boyd Gaming Corporation and MGM MIRAGE lived up to the hype, successfully bringing a taste of Las Vegas to the Jersey Shore. The 50,000-square foot Spa Toccare and almost dozen restaurants—some of which feature well-known chefs—helps complete the glitzy atmosphere. The hotel's ample space for guests (there are over 2,000 tastefully decorated rooms) coupled with an ingenious public relations push targeting a younger crowd has turned it into a hot weekend destination for New Yorkers. The expansive casino floor boasts 3,650 slot machines and 145 table games. The impressive list of restaurants includes Ombra, a branch of New York's Old Homestead Steak House, and restaurant/nightclub MIXX. In 2006, the resort completed a $200 million expansion that added Bobby Flay Steak and Seablue, Michael Mina's only East Coast restaurant.
