The Brown Palace Hotel Review

: Opened in 1892, this wedge-shaped sandstone and granite building has hosted princes and presidents, Hollywood actors and rock stars. It has been completely modernized over the years but always with an eye to preserving its history. Each of the 237 rooms has thick terry robes and down comforters. The Art Deco staterooms on the 8th and 9th floors are a little more costly but lots bigger than the hotel's other doubles. Several of the 25 suites, all with fireplaces, are named after their famous occupants, such as President Eisenhower and the Beatles. Other amenities include a 5,200-square-foot Spa at The Brown (added in 2006), complimentary high-speed Internet access, a full-time concierge and a well-equipped fitness center. An $8 million renovation planned through 2007 will add state-of-the-art meeting facilities. Every afternoon, English tea is served in the atrium lobby and Sunday sees a Dom Perignon Sunday brunch. Accommodating groups of 10 to 500 are 13,000 square feet of meeting space. Dogs are welcome and provided with doggie beds, bowls and special Bone-Apetit treats.
