Days Inn Santa Monica/Los Angeles Hotel Review: Inexpensive places to stay the night are a rarity in Santa Monica, and this pink stucco member of the budget category can be counted on for the basics, as well as cable TV, free high-speed Internet, complimentary breakfast and private balconies. Its best asset by far is its location, about two miles from the beach, the Santa Monica Pier and the shopping and restaurants at the Third Street Promenade. Guest rooms are somewhat outdated but provide moderate comfort and uninspiring city views. The few facilities include a beauty shop and fitness center; nonetheless, if you're value-minded and don't plan on spending a lot of time at your hotel, this is a safe bet.
