Embassy Suites Bloomington Hotel Review: It may be 40 below outside, but the minute the doorman whisks open the soaring, glass doors, you'll forget about the snowflakes. Tropical palms reach toward the top of a 10-story atrium, a grand piano plays gently on the far side of a gurgling waterfall, and satisfied guests lounge while sipping complimentary cocktails. Figure in the overall nouveau, Art Deco setting, and the Embassy Suites Airport evokes more Miami Beach than Minnesota. The sun-kissed theme continues into the spacious suites, with blond wood and Art Deco details. A definite change from the generic décor found in most hotels, these rooms are soothing and welcoming, and also surprisingly functional, with more cabinets than you can shake a suit coat at. The corner suites are only $30 more, and are larger than most city apartments. With dramatic curved windows and a full dining/boardroom table, they raise the bar for homes away from home.
