THIS ESTABLISHMENT HAS BECOME PLANET HOLLYWOOD RESORT & CASINO Aladdin Resort & Casino Hotel Review: When the original Aladdin was imploded in 1998, Planet Hollywood (and others) were planning a music-themed hotel/casino as part of the rebuilt complex. That never materialized, and the new $1.3 billion Aladdin debuted in August 2000. By the end of 2003, however, the owners of this resort are expected to begin turning it into a movie-themed property renamed Planet Hollywood. Among upscale amenities in the 2,567 spacious rooms and suites are cordless phones and granite bathrooms with separate soaking tubs. A 36-foot magic lamp towers above the enormous 1001 Arabian Nights-themed casino. For quieter action, try the European-style luxury gaming club on the mezzanine. The Desert Passage at Aladdin has more than 140 shops, and an impressive selection of restaurants includes the massive Bonsai sushi bar and acclaimed Crustacean/Prana. The 7,000-seat Theater for the Performing Arts features an exterior saved from the implosion. Along with two pools, a wedding chapel and the luxurious Elemis Spa, there is 75,000 square-feet of meeting space that can accommodate parties of up to 2,000.
