THIS ESTABLISHMENT HAS BECOME SIXTY BEVERLY HILLS Thompson Beverly Hills Hotel Review: Following the success of its hugely popular NYC hotel, 60 Thompson, Thompson Hotels group brought its sophisticated modern look to the West Coast. The Thompson Beverly Hills is perfect for those who love chic and black, for that's the theme of this sleek place on Wilshire Boulevard near Rodeo Drive. Enter the dark lobby, and if seeing and being seen are your object (a serious part of this hotel's cachet), head left to a small, intimate bar or upstairs to the rooftop ABH (Above Beverly Hills) Lounge, with its fire pits and imported Canary Island palm tree. The large rooms and suites were all designed by Dodd Mitchell with a "California Modernism" style: dark woods, platform beds and mirrored ceilings that give a slightly minimalist feel to the place. Each room has an oversized shower, floating marble sink and balcony with views of L. A.
