Fernwood Resort Hotel Review: There’s something for every type of traveler at the Fernwood Inn: a twelve-unit motel, cabins and a campground, as well as an on-site restaurant, general store and a bar. Generally speaking, accommodations are no-frills; motel rooms and cabins lack televisions (but do have fireplaces), while the campground offers tent cabins and campsites. The restaurant serves a mix of traditional American fare (hamburgers) and Mexican specialties (burritos and tortas). The bar is popular among locals and features live music on Saturday nights. The property borders Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, which offers dozens of miles of hiking trails. Fernwood also is home to a rare albino redwood tree.
