Gansevoort Park Avenue Hotel Review: As guests enter the three-story atrium lobby in this second of Gansevoort's "see and be seen" New York hotels, impressive details like herringbone granite floors, an oversized fireplace and dramatic aubergine chandeliers come into view. But the real draw here is the collection of 249 luxury rooms and suites that feature high ceilings, Juliet balconies and five-fixture bathrooms. In addition, there is a signature rooftop pool and sundeck, as well as a rooftop bar and lounge. The restaurant, Asellina, serves Italian-inspired fare in a sensuous setting with couches instead of banquettes and several fireplaces. The "public house"-inspired Windsor bar and lounge is a casual but still refined space to meet and greet for specialty cocktails and Prohibition Era classics. Exhale Spa and fitness center offers a range of body sculpting and cardio regimens as well as body-soothing, primping and polishing treatments. The on-site Cutler Salon offers its own line of hair products. This property is well-situated near the Empire State Building, the Theater District, Times Square, Bryant Park and the New York City Public Library.
