The Gotham Hotel Review: Don't tell your NYC friends that your (temporary) apartment has a nicely sized outdoor terrace. They'll hate you. Oh, well, maybe you should. It'll be fun. With just 66 rooms on the property --- all with private outdoor space --- The Gotham Hotel never overwhelms with activity. This is genteel midtown living made to please business travelers in need of room to spread out and solo travelers or families hoping to get away from any kind of sceney scene. The hotel's 26 floors each contain just two to four rooms. Though they have a contemporary feel and feature 400 thread-count linens, C.O. Bigelow bath products, robes and iPod docking stations, the rooms are not really eye candy. They're fine, but design fans won't tote home any décor ideas. But those terraces offer enough good stuff to look at so, really, no complaints here. Other amenities include complimentary gym passes and continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi and services ranging from secretarial to dog walking. Yes, it's a Fido-friendly property. Need to skedad to other parts of the city right quick? Grand Central is just a few blocks away.
