Governor's Inn Hotel Review: While its not as fancy as the other hotels in the Colonial Williamsburg collection, this property allows visitors the same great access to the historic district. Guests also enjoy the same privileges, such as access to the Tazewell Health Club (for a fee) and preferred reservations at the communitys restaurants, such as the Shields Tavern, which dates back to the 1700s, and the Williamsburg Inns upscale Regency Room. All of the 200 motel-style guest rooms have a pair of double beds. They are simple but bright, with aqua bedspreads, white headboards and light furniture. Basic amenities include cable TV and hair dryers. Nice extras are complimentary continental breakfast, a kids club and the pleasant outdoor pool. The inn is open seasonally, usually from June through August and during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
