Gramercy Park Hotel Review

: Designed by Ian Schrager, the man behind Miami Beach's Delano and West Hollywood's Mondrian, the Gramercy Park Hotel is as bold --- if not, at times, bolder --- than the city it calls home. This one isn't for the faint of style heart. Hosting a fusion of design schemes, the lobby is furnished with hand-woven rugs, Moroccan tiles and 3-D paintings. A revolving line of work from internationally recognized artists including Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Tom Wesselman brings splashes of color and style. The 185 guest quarters offer European ambience through the use of Renaissance color palettes and unique art. The private roof club and garden is easily the hotel's best (and, save the rooms, most romantic) place to relax on a spring day in the city. Guests also enjoy access to one of NYC's most coveted spots: gated Gramercy Park. In-house Maialino restaurant is run by another legendary name in hospitality, Danny Meyer. After 9 p.m., reservations are a must at both the Rose Bar and the Jade Bar. A 24-hour on-site gym and spa offering jet lag relief treatments for weary travelers round out the hotel's offerings.
