The Greenbrier Hotel Review: Imagine any holiday activity and you're likely to find it on this gorgeous 6,500-acre property. Along with standards such as tennis and swimming, guests can enjoy falconry, skeet shooting, trout fishing, bowling, daily concerts and first-run movies. The atmosphere here is friendly and casual, with an emphasis on recreation. The 800 accommodations include guest rooms, suites, guest houses and estate houses. The style throughout is traditional and comfortable. Most of the guest houses were built in the early 1800s. The four estate houses include the impressive Valley View Estate House, where you can entertain up to 200. Three championship golf courses are complemented by an academy complete with PGA and LPGA pros. Other notable attractions include an Art Colony as well as the 2010 addition of the Casino Club. In the spring, week-long programs are offered by La Varenne Cooking School, and daily classes are presented from May to October. The presence of an independent conference center makes this a great location for business events.
