High Peaks Resort Hotel Review: This plush property is anchored by a main building designed to optimize the experience of communing with nature. And though the great outdoors beckon, a spa, a casual restaurant serving upscale local cuisine and a fireside bar give guests plenty of reasons to stay in. The variety of guest rooms includes the "Waterfront Collection," with direct access to Mirror Lake. Accommodations are pleasant in style and spacious; some come with comfy leather couches, and all feature free Wi-Fi, plasma-screen TVs, Molton Brown bath products and inviting beds. Suites also come equipped with fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. Service here, however, trumps everything, as guests are treated like visiting VIPs. The property is located in Lake Placid’s commercial district.
