The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Review

: Located on the west end of Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame, across from Grauman's Chinese Theater and just a block from the splashy Hollywood and Highland shopping complex, this 1927 building has undergone quite a renaissance. Ever since a 2005 revamp by the Thompson Hotel Group, it has been a mecca for Young Hollywood. Part of the property-wide renovations included the remodeling of the Blossom Room, site of the very first Academy Awards in 1929. Among the 300 accommodations are 60 refurbished cabana rooms, and all include CD/DVD players and high-speed Internet access. Public Kitchen & Bar serves modern American cuisine in a gorgeous historic setting. Guests can also order up a great burger at the upscale diner 25 Degrees, or better yet, bowl on one of the two vintage lanes at The Spare Room bar and gaming parlor. Don't be surprised by the skimpy suits, flowing liquor and (on our visit, a gold basketball) around the swimming pool. Sadly, the underwater painting at the bottom of the pool is gone. But if you're looking for a scene, this is the place --- especially at Beacher's Madhouse, a Vaudeville-inspired theater that will remind you why one of the city's nicknames is La La Land!
